The Desire of Every Heart.

To be fully known. Our deepest desire. To be fully known and deeply loved. In the story of John, Ch 17, Jesus, before going to his death , prayed an outstanding prayer to His Father:

"Oh just and righteous Father, although the world has not known You and has failed to recognize You and has never acknowledged You, I have known You continually and these men understand and know that You have sent me. I have made Your name known to them and revealed Your character and Your very self , and I will continue to make You known, that the love which you have bestowed upon Me may be in them [felt in their hearts] and that I [Myself] may be in them."

God wanted to be "known", He wanted His children to fully know Him. Jesus said the world never knew Him. Obviously they knew Him, His name, His laws, His power but they did not know His heart, His character, His very self. This was how we betrayed him, this is how we betray each other, this is how we betray ourselves. Jesus said He knew Him continually. If God, being God, wanted to be fully known, what do you think our deepest desire is? We all want to be known, understood, recognized and valued. We all want acceptance and love. We are fully known by God, but we are not known to ourselves and we do not understand His love for us. How can we expect others to know us if we do not know ourselves? How can we love others, if we 1st do not understand God's love for us and then love ourselves? We can only begin to truly love others when we learn how to receive God's love and begin to love and accept ourselves. Start by acknowledging these desires exist, accepting them not resisting them. And begin to ask God to reveal to You His very nature and open yourself up and declare: "I am deeply loved and completely accepted."

Notice any resistance that arises and ask yourself if you want to remain feeling unloved, unacceptable and unwanted? If the answer is no, then begin to allow yourself the right to believe that you are known, accepted and deeply loved by the creator. Then notice how that feels, how does that change things for you? Today, declare the truth of who you are and let go of the limiting belief that you are not acceptable and loved once and for all.
